Creative Writing - Poetry - Relativity
by Hilary McRee Flanery
I took a
walk,
to the
creek.
Its silver
silence
I did
seek.
Its shoulders
wrapped
in winter
white,
A stole
of snow
from left
to right.
And in
between,
the sparkling
ice,
Babbling,
glistening,
streams
entice...
Us all
to hear
its silver,
sounds
In silver
silence
God
abounds.
As Hilary McRee Flanery, I write short stories and books to bare my soul because after ten kids, God KNOWS I can't bare my body. My nom de plume, Long-Skirts, I use to sign my poetry. Why? Because I love "being a girl" and after ten kids it's a great way to hide one's multitude of sins...varicose veins. My newly published book, Campin' in Chicago, is a novel of picaresque fiction loosely based on my own family and can be purchased at amazon.com.
