Creative Writing - Poetry - Kindred Spirits

by Elizabeth Slaughter-Ek

Elizabeth Slaughter-Ek.

Smoky veil, a wall of fog and
frost flowers line the road.
The lights are holy with
haloes of fog.
All hallowed.

Hale and hollow
we creep along.
There are no boundaries
between this world
and any beyond.

Substance is elsewhere,
here you're see-through--
transparent, dim.

A foggy sprite, a spirit
a frosted flower, a frozen field.
I know you, spirit.
I ken you.
