I'm Not Waiting

Creative Writing - Poetry - A Fine Line

by Kevin G.

When I look to the door at night
I always think about that white
Basketball girl around the courts
Trying to reach it to the heights
I'm always waiting for the love to come to me
But she isn't waiting for me

Waiting's been my only option
Since I hide behind my decisions
To love that girl, giving me a fright
Trying to see love at first sight
But now I'm done, waiting for that girl to come
And pick me up for a short night

No more waiting and sitting
For that special love to come bidding
Out of hiding I must go
Lightening, the way to the end you know
But no more waiting or hating myself without love again
When love awaits - I'll not wait again

The Author

As Kevin G. knows, growth often comes from exploring our innermost feelings to their depths. Being young doesn't always mean one is unaware of their life or feelings. As an underclassman in a United States high school, Kevin knows it won't just be what he learns from books and teachers that makes him into the man he is becoming. After pursuing the best of grades in all he studies, Kevin is quickly becoming a part time poet and lyricist.
